Andreas Reibenspies - singer
 
The German baritone Andreas Reibenspies studied voice at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, Germany. His most significant teachers were the American mezzo-soprano Lucretia West, the dramatic baritone Günter Reich, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, stage director Renate Ackermann and accompanist Norman Shetler.

His opera debut was in 1991 as Mozarts Figaro at the State Operatheater in Regensburg, Germany. Since then he has performed at many Operahouses, such as Basel, Frankfurt, Leipzig,Karlsruhe, Munich, Passau. He has been invited to numerous festivals and concerts in Europe and all over the world with  major roles in such operas like “Jakob Lenz” and “The conquest of Mexico” by Wolfgang Rihm.

 

His experience with piano and voice as an instrument he continued in his work with art songs. His lieder repertoire is extensive, his expressive interpretations is exemplary, characterizes by a clear articulation. He was a faculty member for voice from 1989 to 2003 at the University of Music in Karlsruhe. Andreas Reibenspies was appointed as a full time Professor for voice in October 2002 at the University of Music in Trossingen, Germany. He teaches in masterclasses for voice and art songs at universities in the USA and Finland, at the International Music Days Brache, at the Ionian Concerts festival Corfu and in cooperation with the International Academy for Music Education Karlsruhe
