Beata Pincetic and Hristos Sakellaridis met in Budapest while studying piano at the”Ferenc Liszt”Academy of music in 1992. Although married, they followed separate career paths until deciding to form a piano duo in 2003.Since then they have given numerous recitals in Greece, Croatia,Switzerland, Cyprus, Italy, England, Norway, France and appeared in prestigious international festivals such as Ledra Music International Chamber Music Festival (Cyprus), Sani Classical Music Festival (Greece) and the “Musik der Welt” Contemporary Music Festival (Greece). In September 2007 they where finalists in the ‘E.Grieg’ Competition for two pianos in Oslo and received a special award for their interpretation of works of Mozart-Busoni. Their cooperation with the Greek Composers Union (member of I.S.C.M.) gave them the opportunity to play many contemporary works as well creating world or Greek premieres of such works by composers like N.Scalkottas, D.Detoni, T.Antoniou ,I.Papadatos and K.Stylianou. In collaboration with the Greek National Opera in May 2006 they performed the two piano part in the opera „Wachsfiguren Kabinett“of K.A.Hartmann. They have also initiated projects of contemporary music compiling programs with music for solo piano and piano duo, which has met with great artistic and public success. Their repertory embraces music from a variety of styles with works from Bach to today. Their first CD by the label Irida Classical was sponsored by the “A.Onassis’’ Foundation and includes works for 2 pianos by J. Adams, W. Lutoslawsky, A.Piazzola, B.Bartok, G.Gershwin and N.Skalkottas and has met with great critical success.

 

Beata Pincetic was born in Zagreb, Croatia. She has performed as a recitalist and chamber music soloist in Europe (England, Switzerland, Croatia, Greece, Hungary etc.) and appeared in prestigious music festivals such as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and Zagreb Biennale for contemporary music. Her repertoire includes music from Byrd and Gibbons to the 20th century and has performed new works by contemporary composers (Horvat, Antoniou, Detonni etc) some of them in world premier. She has recorded for radio and television.

Ms. Pincetic is a graduate of the Zagreb Academy of Music, where she studied with Professor J. Murai. Following her studies in Zagreb she continued, at the "F.Liszt" Academy in Budapest where she worked with with professors: S. Falvai, I. Szekely, and I. Gulyas.

During her studies she was recipient of a scholarship from the Croatian Ministry of Education. She has participated in seminars with such prestigious names as: P. Sancan, R. Kherer , and K. Katsaris .

 

Hristos Sakellaridis was born in Athens, Greece. After completing his studies in Greece he continued his studies at the “F.Liszt” Academy in  Budapest with professors A.Kemenes, I.Lantos piano and M.Gyorgy in chamber music from where he received an artist’s and teacher’s Diploma. During his studies he had a scholarship from the “A.Onassis” Foundation. He has participated in seminars with: L.Vlassenko, K.Katsaris, L.Berman and K.Kommerling.

He has performed in Greece and abroad (Hungary, England, Switzerland,Croatia,Norway etc.) as a soloist or chamber music recitalist and appeared in prestigious international festivals such as Ledra Music International Chamber Music Festival , Athens Summer  Festival ,“Musik der Welt” Contemporary Music Festival etc. He collaborated with well established artists such as P.Pierlot, P.L. Graf, R.van Spaendock and Istan Matusz among others. He has recorded for radio and television. In 2003 he won first price at the H.E.L.E.X.P.O. chamber music competition and in 2007 he was a laureate at the E.Grieg competition for 2 pianos in Oslo. Mr.Sakellaridis is part of the Faculty of the Ionian University since 2008.
